Lesson 5 · Blue mode: manage the whole round

v.1.9.21 · Liquidity, Smart Hedge and Inputs for this lesson
The existing lesson below describes normal operation. While Smart Hedge owns the round, legacy exits are paused. Monitor total Profit and finish with STOP. Read the updated Hedge section first.

The blue mode is considered for Sideway conditions. Learn to view all positions of a round together rather than celebrating one winning order while forgetting the rest.

1 · Recognise a range first

Price moves back and forth around similar levels rather than making a sustained sequence of higher or lower swings. Describe the boundaries before choosing a mode.

A range is not permanent. Strong news or a breakout can change the market; a blue button is not a promise that price will return.

2 · The round means the whole basket

1Buy +10 USD
2Sell −6 USD
3Costs 1.50 USD
4Net +2.50 USD

A basket is the group of positions managed together. Their results depend on direction, entry prices, lot sizes and costs. One Buy and one Sell do not necessarily carry equal size or cancel all risk.

Fictional example: Buy +10 USD, Sell −6 USD and a further 1.50 USD of costs not yet included leave +2.50 USD net. Do not report this basket as +10. Do not subtract costs twice if they are already included.

3 · Before starting, prepare the whole plan

2Equity / Margin
3Exit plan

Check the range, completed signal candle, UTC time and USD news. Then inspect total lot, Equity, Margin and Free Margin. Decide how much you can lose and what ends the round.

Hedging—holding both directions—does not remove spreads, fees, margin requirements or the possibility of a large loss. The system does not replace your risk decision.

4 · Finish the round and check what remains

1Structure changes
2STOP · close all
3Check Trade / History

In this workflow, STOP closes all positions of the round. When structure changes, try to finish with a small profit or small loss to lock risk. There is no promise that execution will achieve a small result every time.

Check Trade to verify intended positions are gone and History for actual executed results. If any position remains, the round is not fully finished. Do not start a new round while forgetting the old exposure.

5 · If price leaves the range

Reassess the market and original reason for using blue mode. Follow your exit and risk plan; do not add lot merely to force the basket back into profit.

The line is a reference, not a guarantee that price will return to the range.

Practise before opening the answer

1 · Buy is +10 and Sell is −6. Is the basket +10?

Show answer and reasoning

No. With another 1.50 of not-yet-included costs, the fictional net is +2.50 USD.

2 · Does one Buy and one Sell imply equal risk?

Show answer and reasoning

No. Compare lot sizes, total exposure, costs and account funds; position count alone is insufficient.

3 · You pressed STOP but still see an intended position in Trade. Is the round complete?

Show answer and reasoning

No. Check execution messages, the connection and remaining positions before beginning again.

4 · Price breaks the range. Increase lot to force recovery?

Show answer and reasoning

No. Reassess structure and follow the exit plan. Do not assume price must return.

Your Demo homework

  1. Use Demo to identify a range without placing a trade.
  2. Write a fictional basket containing both positive and negative results; calculate the net after costs.
  3. Practise the STOP close-all workflow on Demo and check Trade / History before and after.

Trading can cause substantial losses, including all allocated funds. Past results do not guarantee future performance. Practise on Demo and define your risk before trading.

EA F1 + Radar v.1.9.21 · Read the screen and new features

Read three things: trend gives direction · Liquidity marks an event to investigate · Smart Hedge manages a running basket when confirmed direction conflicts with existing positions. Gold uses M1 as its main trend; Bitcoin uses M5. Other timeframe trends provide context. A Buy Liquidity label does not replace the main trend.

What is Smart Hedge? Existing positions remain open

Hedging means holding Buy and Sell positions in the same instrument simultaneously. Opening a Sell against an existing Buy does not close that Buy or erase its loss. Smart Hedge requires an MT5 Hedging account; Netting accounts work differently.

With Smart Hedge = true and a round running, the EA enters its Hedge branch after a confirmed reversal, a confirmed continuation against existing positions, or a transition out of Sideway against positions still open. A Liquidity message or a yellow candle alone does not trigger Hedge.

Existing positions remainConfirmed direction → HedgeReview total Profit → STOP

The Hedge branch pauses the original Grid additions and legacy entry/exit paths. Initial coverage targets the total EA position volume present when Hedge starts, possibly split to meet broker limits. Later additions require a fresh yellow signal and sufficient price progress. Margin and position limits still apply.

Once Hedge takes control, legacy exits—including Dynamic TP, Initial Stop and the money Take Profit—are bypassed. Do not expect those settings to close the basket automatically. Positive total Profit brings a take-profit advisory; Sideway or a state needing reset brings a reset advisory. These messages do not close trades. Use STOP to end the round and close all EA positions, then verify completion. There is no automatic restart.

Hedge does not guarantee a loss limit. Monitor gross lots, Spread / Commission / Swap and Margin. Existing losses remain, and additional positions can increase risk. Do not raise lots to recover a loss.

MetaTrader 5 · Hedging / Netting

In this screenshot, Buy Liquidity M5 and M15 appear while M1 and M5 still show Down and START is red. Buy Liquidity does not prove an uptrend reversal. Check structure, closed candles, news and your risk plan together.

Try before revealing the answer

Hedge is active and total Profit is positive. Wait for the old TP?

Show answer

Do not rely on the legacy TP in the Hedge branch. Review the exit opportunity, use STOP to finish, and verify all EA positions are closed.
