Lesson 10 · Practise decisions before seeing the future
Make a decision using the information available at that moment, before viewing the next part. Explain why, then compare with the answer. These historical and fictional exercises are not live signals.
1 · Read only what is visible
The right side of the historical v1.9.8 chart is hidden. You have not checked the calendar, the completed signal or the round’s risk plan. What should you do?

Show answer and reasoning
Wait. A visible rise is not enough. Read several swings, check the closed candle, UTC news and time, total lot, Equity and the exit plan before considering a new round.
Compare your original reasoning with the explanation.
The historical chart continues with falling and oscillating prices. Knowing this future does not prove a profitable entry was available at the cut. The screenshot’s Profit and Today P/L belong to the original account, not your exercise. Judge the decision by the checks and plan available before the reveal.
2 · A deep pullback reaches orange
The main move was upward, but the retracement against it reaches the orange Radar line. What is the next step?

Show answer and reasoning
Reassess. Reaching orange is the course’s Deep Pullback reference, not a guaranteed reversal or automatic entry. Compare several swings and the original plan. Manage an existing round separately.
Compare your original reasoning with the explanation.
3 · The yellow candle is still live
The rightmost yellow candle is changing and you have not written a risk budget. Ready for START?
Show answer and reasoning
Wait. A live candle is not a closed signal. Finish the entry and risk plan. A closed yellow candle starts further checks; it is not immediate permission to enter.
Compare your original reasoning with the explanation.
4 · Red USD news is about to be released
An illustrative calendar is set to UTC+00:00. USD CPI has a red Impact symbol at 12:30 UTC; now it is 12:27 UTC.
Check high-impact USD news
Set the economic calendar to UTC+00:00, select the trading date, then find USD events with a red high-impact symbol in the Impact column. Red result numbers alone do not indicate high impact.
Illustrative calendar example · not live news
Example release 12:30 UTC → no new round from 12:25 UTC
Do not start a new round from 5 minutes before the release. After the release, wait until volatility settles, then reassess structure, entry and risk. There is no fixed number of minutes that makes trading safe.
New York changes between UTC−04:00 (daylight saving) and UTC−05:00 (standard time). Scheduled US releases therefore shift in UTC. Check the actual event date and calendar time. The broker chart clock may use a different offset.
Open Forex Factory calendarShow answer and reasoning
Wait. Do not start from 12:25 UTC. After release, reassess only when volatility settles; no fixed five-minute period guarantees safety. Also follow the 12:00–14:00 UTC no-new-round rule.
Compare your original reasoning with the explanation.
5 · The basket is positive but structure changes
All intended positions net +2.50 USD after the included costs. Your predefined exit is triggered by the structure change.
Show answer and reasoning
Follow the predefined STOP close-all exit. Check Trade and actual History. The executed result can differ from +2.50; the displayed value is not a promised final profit.
Compare your original reasoning with the explanation.
6 · A small loss and invalidated structure
The round is −2 USD and the structure no longer supports your plan. Your exit condition is met.
Show answer and reasoning
The planned response can be STOP to close all at a small loss, then verify and record. Do not require break-even or add lot to force recovery. Execution may make the final result different.
Compare your original reasoning with the explanation.
7 · A withdrawal does not prove profit
Deposits total 600 USD, successful withdrawals 150 USD and current Equity 200 USD. No credit, adjustments or external fees. What is the overall result?
Show answer and reasoning
150 + 200 − 600 = −250 USD. Include all top-ups and the same period/currency. Current Equity can still change. This is cashflow arithmetic, not an EA formula.
Compare your original reasoning with the explanation.
8 · You want to double lot after losing
You feel rushed to recover yesterday’s loss. There is no new confirmed setup or written risk plan.

Show answer and reasoning
Pause. More lot increases exposure without fixing the entry reason. Review the loss, structure, news, funds and planned STOP exit; practise on Demo rather than using emotion as a trigger.
Compare your original reasoning with the explanation.
UTC+00:00 is the course time reference
New York changes between UTC−04:00 (daylight saving) and UTC−05:00 (standard time). Scheduled US releases therefore shift in UTC. Check the actual event date and calendar time. The broker chart clock may use a different offset.
Read the chart and the calendar separately. Convert your local clock from UTC for the event date; do not assume broker time is UTC.
New York · UTC−04:00 / UTC−05:00Your Demo homework
- Practise three Demo rounds. Before each decision, record UTC time, symbol, structure, closed candle, USD news, total size, funds and planned exit.
- Keep chart/server time separate. Its UTC offset is unconfirmed; use the calendar set to UTC+00:00 for news.
- Use STOP to close all when the plan calls for it. Verify Trade and History, record actual net and review the first decision without rewriting it after seeing the future.

Check your understanding
Trading can cause substantial losses, including all allocated funds. Past results do not guarantee future performance. Practise on Demo and define your risk before trading.
Read the EA F1 + Radar v1.9.9 screen
Earlier images and examples remain historical learning material. This section shows the current v1.9.9 screen and rules.

v1.9.9 separates Radar trend from EA button color: orange breakout plus three closes beyond green confirms direction; touching opposite orange resets to Sideway. Read both TFs and warnings before START.
